Rebirth

"Rebirth" is women's journey, inside out, body and soul, uncovering a fascinating story of the quest for womanhood and the complex relation between women with their femininity.
The ideal of feminine beauty is changing and being challenged by the expansion of the boundaries of its representation, and the space for women to be seen unapologetically and on their own terms shows signs of extending to the art world. The female body is staged in the center with a liberal yet blurred look of nudity through a fabric that resembles the womb, reveals the female form representation as the source of life and as a symbol to power, passion, tenderness and triumph.
The Art
"Rebirth" is a composite of innocence, rebellion and beauty, which explores the struggle of self and the self-acceptance in the face of the ever-changing nature of womanhood. It offers an intimate and authentic glimpse into the internal, complex and sometimes ruthless dialogue of women with their body and their femininity.
This is a photographic-poetic narrative told by brave women and their journey to self-realization in a challenging environment, in which they were wrapped in a huge semi-transparent fabric hanging high above the ground. As the fabric recreates own symbolism to a womb and acts as a second skin, this powerful experience triggered a wide spectrum of contradictory emotions, such as: constrained versus free, fearful versus courageous, shy versus confident, protected versus vulnerable, covered versus exposed, seen versus unseen, and more.
As an accurate reflection to their self-perception, consciously or unconsciously, each woman brought in her true self. The initial struggle for balance, overcoming physical (as well as emotional) constrains and the feeling of discomfort slowly faded and were intuitively replaced by a courageous interpretation and powerful feminine self - expression - all sensitively captured by the artist.
